RAMesses II Enhanced 2MB Upgrade for Amiga

RAMesses II is the second major revision of the RAMesses upgrade board for Amiga computers. Physical size and functionality is identical to the first RAMesses, but uses parts more easily obtainable during the world chip shortage.

RAMesses II is a 2MB Chip RAM upgrade that works on Amiga 500 (not Plus / revision 8A), Amiga 1500/2000 (B2000 motherboard version) and CDTV. It requires no cutting/soldering modifications to the Amiga motherboard, you need to be able to remove Agnus and Gary, plug Gary into an adaptor board and insert RAMesses into the Agnus socket. RAMesses has a switchable mode so that it can provide 2MB Chip RAM or 1MB Chip and 512KB Slow RAM for compatibility with older games. It provides the RAM and disables the RAM on the motherboard and trapdoor expansion slot (this means that the A314 is not compatible).

Note: The board requires an 8375 2MB Agnus which is not provided. You can obtain the 8375 Agnus from eBay and other retailers. Also note that 1MB 8375 models exist, these are not compatible.

You will need to obtain a PLCC extractor tool to remove your Amiga's Agnus prior to the installation of this board, there are cheap ones available on Amazon and we highly recommend the PLCC-84 extractor tool made by Piergiacomi in Europe and Hakko in USA.

If you currently use a right-angle CPU relocator, this board will be in the way, you will need to raise the relocator by 1-2 sockets.
